Handy Longpost
Dear me, I haven`t been blogging much lately, have I? Ah well, only because I`ve been Doing Things and they are actually quite exciting. Like, on Tuesday I rode the bus by myself. In a big circle. And had a conversation with the driver, the gist of which was, Yes, I know this is the end of the route but I`d really rather not get off here as there is no sign of civilization. Yes, I know we passed Domingo Paz, that`s where I got on, will you please take me BACK there? Thank you.
I completely forgot Saint Patrick`s day, and was reminded forcibly when Sid and Joe started pinching me that night. So unfair, I was in my school uniform, which has no green unless you wear the sweater, but it was hot. I should`ve been wearing the Abe Shiny, except every time I wear it to school at least four people throttle me by grabbing it and saying "¡Que bonito!" so I`ve decided it`s better for my well-being to...not.
I went to a soccer game! The Strongest verus Tarija, very exciting. Only I couldn`t recognize any of the players except Bald Guy, whose head was impressively shiny in the stadium lights.
And I`m the top of my math class, which is downright frightening. I got a 49 on my last exam, and that`s out of 50 so it`s even more impressive. And there we three word problems and I got them all right, muahahaha. Plus it`s new material. Unless I really wasn`t paying attention to Anderson. But I think I`d remember the name Ruffini. Who has Reglas, which I think are rules. And charts! Everybody was shocked and amazed at my test grade, which was nice until it became insulting. They all got 30s.
Tomorrow`s Good Friday, and I`m going to San Lorenzo with the guys. And if the buses don`t run we`re taking a sacreligious taxi. ^^ You`d think I`d get the week off for Easter rather than just one day, but I suppose summer break did just end...bleh.
And next weekend I`m going to Argentina. So the other guys can renew their visas and thus not be deported. Alas. But hey...Argentina!

Spring Break is this weekend/next week/the weekend of next week... Your post is printing...
reglas = rulers. At least in the supplios de la escuela they do.
That SO isn't fair. I want to go to Argentina!!! That's where Evita was.
T_T
Hah, you got pinched. I didn't. I went to the library that day. 'Twas exciting. Cause we didn't have school.
Soccer? L I V, E R P, double O L Liverpool FC... lol
I have like a 91 in math which is so awesome but I really need to bring it up to a high A so my semester grade averages to an A so I keep my high GPA so I keep my class rank tied with Edward's and everyone.
Liver.. eh.. Pools of Liver... ewh!
eating jelly beans...
Um.
I'm going to drive.
Eating waffles (like, right now I mean.)
I am eating nothing at the moment, but shortly will have in my possesion SuperMarias and/or Oreos that I may go study on yon handycliff and not starve. May yonder Beach and Ski chapter die a slow and horrible death for its uselessness, as I am in a landlocked country in the late summer.
And Argentina´s not looking so good right now, as we checked yon paperwork and I might not be let back in Bolivia. Alas.
I slid down the tail of a T-Rex today.
Wait... do you have like one of our Spanish I textbooks?
I got to drive. I went over 50 MILES PER HOUR and didn't kill anyone!
Though I about murdered the instructor.
And apparently, I can drink a rootbeer in a 'raunchy' way. How cool is THAT?
And if you aren't allowed back in Bolivia, you could go to South Africa. They have like elephants. Or KENYA!!! Where the giraffes are, and the zebra... *laughs* Where can you see lions...
Something to note:
I forget.
Soon to be eating: Homemade Apple Pie (and it really homemade!). Kenya For it is awesome... (and my mom needs to use the phone, for I have dial-up)
Wisdom is the Need to Eat Pie.
Meg, I have a mutant Spanish 1 textbook. It has chapter one twice and no chapter two. It got thrown away at the beginning of the year, and I...erm...rescued it.
And have neglected to actually use it until recently, and now am going at a rate of a chapter a week. Do you know if stem-change verbs still change in the past tense? You who have had actual formal instruction?
Yes, pie is wisedom... It is wet, muddy, and I am writing s program on QuickBasic... I have no life.
Yes, some stem-changing verbs do change in the preterite tense, but it depends on the verb. For any -ar and -er stem-changing verbs (ex: comenzar - comienzo, comienzas, etc. (present tense)), there is no stem change in the preterite. For -ir verbs ONLY (ex: pedir - pido, pides, pide (present tense)), there can be a stem change. In textbooks, dictionaries, etc., such verbs will be notated as: pedir (i,i), dormir (ue, u), servir (i,i). The second vowel indicates the stem change in the preterite. It only happens in the third persons singular and plural (el, ella, ud., ellos, ellas, uds.). Therefore, the preterite conjugation for dormir would be like this: dormí, dormiste, durmió, dormimos dormisteis, durmieron. My Spanish teacher calls it a "slipper verb".
Hopefully that helps without being too confusing.
>o.0< ?
Okay, thanks.
Sign that I have no life? I started dancing when I realized preterite conjugations for -er and -ir verbs are the same. Sad, sad, sad.
Shut up, Emily! That was my question! Nobody asked you!
Sorry. Just, I've been away for nearly a week, and I actually have a sign that somebody at least used to care if I'm alive and values my input, and you just... take it. You THIEVING CHAIFER.
Catrey... I have new shoes. With like, no heel at all. They're uberly flat. And you know what that means. ^_^!!!!!!!!!!!
Meg shall be tripping up stairs more in her flat shoes! Hehehe.
I've been absent a very long time. Bad bad spaz.
I have a plan to talk to him... which is good, yesh?
